EXPERIENCE Brands Wins Four Architectural Product Innovation Awards

Feb 1, 2022

Griven and Hess Recognized In Exterior Lighting and Site Furnishings Categories.

Griven and Hess were recently recognized with Product Innovation Awards by Architectural Products magazine for new products introduced in 2021. Griven received its accolades with the CAPITAL RGBW floodlight series and PARADE L linear wall grazers in the Exterior Lighting category. In the same category, Hess captured an award with the MOSAIC bollard, as well as a win for the PORTAL Bench in the Landscape Products division. The panel of twenty judges spanned the whole spectrum of the design community comprised of architects, interior designers, lighting consultants, as well as the editors of the publication.

For Griven, this latest distinction for the CAPITAL series represents its third product recognition for 2021. With four basic models to choose from, the floodlights satisfy project needs ranging from small statuary and landscape lighting to large-scale areas and tall buildings. The judges commented, “The interaction of layers of light simplify complex lighting projects”, alluding to the overlapping scaled output for each of the four sizes in the product family.

The recently introduced PARADE L from Griven is a flexible linear wall grazing luminaire in four lengths. The luminaires feature a choice of ten light distributions, numerous control and wiring options, integral electronics, and a variety of mounting solutions to meet the demanding requirements of outdoor architectural lighting. The jury noted PARADE L is “unique in that besides the many standard options (RGBW and static white), they offer a number of custom options for the product.”

The MOSAIC bollard from Hess is defined by its standard selection of six decorative panels organically inspired by nature. Minimized external hardware conveys a stately architectural appearance when combined with the standard finely textured Primar® finish or optional premium anodized treatments.

The bollard includes options for custom panel designs to match site aesthetics or provide custom messaging needs such as signage or corporate branding. The MOSAIC family includes complementary columns for visual accenting only or combined with an area lighting module for general illumination.

Using the latest LED technology, recycled metals, and FSC-certified black locust wood, the judges keenly observed the PORTAL bench from Hess to be “a modern twist with long-term sustainability in mind.” The bench is available in standard non-illuminated or illuminated models. Options include a concealed wireless charging station embedded with the slats to address today’s modern needs. The multiple award-winning products within the PORTAL family include illuminating columns, bollards, and the world’s first commercially available exterior rated EXIT bollard.
